Oxymoron Youth Consulting was founded by Mark Hovermale who is also the Director of Students at First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, MI. Mark has been in youth ministry for over a decade and has worked in a variety of ministry positions and settings. He got his start as a youth volunteer through college at a baptist church in inner-city Chicago. He was a multi-year volunteer and praise team leader for the middle school ministry at Calvary Baptist Church, an intern at an Evangelical Free Church in Denver, Co, a youth minister at First Presbyterian Church of Northville, and finally has spent almost five years as the Director of Students at First Presbyterian Church of Plymouth, MI.
Mark has taken all these different positions and experiences and is utilizing them with Oxymoron Youth Consulting. The goal of Oxymoron is to help youth ministries reach their ministry goals by helping in specific areas of organization, speaking training, and structure set-up and implentation. Oxymoron does this through 1 on 1 church consulting and seminars on youth ministry. Through Oxymoron, Mark also offers to be a speaker at retreats and youth group events.
Mark has been married to his wonderful wife Sara for 7 years. They have a 2-year old girl named Abby Mae. Sara is the brains behind the operation (as any man will admit about his wife) and Abby Mae keeps them both laughing. They currently live in Westland, MI.
